‘Final Fantasy’ Creator Hironobu Sakaguchi Teases To Launch New Game In 2017

Fans of the "Final Fantasy" series have something to look forward in the coming new year. Current CEO of Mistwalker and creator of the hit JRPG Hironobu Sakaguchi recently confirmed during an interview that they have a brand new game which will be revealed in 2017.

During his talk with 4Gamer as part of the roundtable discussion, he did not actually reveal much detail regarding his much-anticipated project, according to DigitalTrends. He simply said, translated by DualShockers: "I plan to announce a new title in 2017. Stay tuned!"

The "Final Fantasy" series creator also mentioned that his team at Mistwalker is in partnership with Silicon Studio, the game developer behind "Bravely Default." Their partnership grants Mistwalker access to a collection of developer tools and middleware for its upcoming project.

Sakaguchi teasing the unveiling of the new game could mean that this could possibly be the untitled game being developed currently between Mistwalker and Silicon Studio, which was announced earlier this year, or perhaps it's a whole new game altogether.

According to GameSpot, "Final Fantasy" creator Hironobu Sakaguchi has mentioned about opening a new "development-type" company. It remains unclear also whether the new game that will be revealed in 2017 has ties with this unnamed company. He did tease about calling the company "Dawnwalker."

Hironobu Sakaguchi is best known for creating the best JRPG that sparked the biggest video game in history, "Final Fantasy." He is also known for other titles such as "Blue Dragon," "Lost Odyssey," "Terra Battle," and more. He founded Mistwalker after his time with Square Enix.

It is truly unclear whether Hironobu Sakaguchi's new game will be for mobile devices or for consoles. Fans will have to wait until 2017 for more details such as platform, story, and gameplay style about this mysterious game that the "Final Fantasy" creator teased.
