More Details Surface About Chicago Sex Assault, One Suspect’s Mother Takes Son To Police

More details surfaced about the sexual assault on a Chicago teen streamed on Facebook Live after one of the suspects' mother turned her son in to the police. One of the details police uncovered included the fact that the attackers threatened the girl with a dog attack if she tried to escape.

The 15-year-old suspect, whom the mother brought to police, was the second teen arrested that was involved in the case. Authorities arrested a 14-year-old over the weekend. Police said they both faced felony counts of criminal sexual assault, dissemination of child pornography and manufacturing of child pornography.

Six people took part in the assault of the girl, 15. Forty people watched the Facebook Live video but no one contacted the police, Fox News reported.

The incident took place on March 19 and the mother of the victim said her daughter received threats and some kids in their area laughed about the incident. The girl has yet to return back home or in school for fear of getting taunted and ridiculed.

For the additional details on the case, Cook County prosecutors claimed at least four of the attackers beckoned the victim into a basement. They then slapped her numerous times and told the victim a dog will attack her if she resisted or tried to leave. The 14-year-old arrested over the weekend reportedly told the victim she could have sex with them "the easy way or the hard way," Chicago Tribune shared.

A Chicago police spokesman appealed to the parents and families of the other suspects to do the right thing and turn over their children. The people who watched the Facebook Live stream and did not report to the authorities could also face charges.

The two teens arrested remained at the Juvenile Temporary Detention Center. Authorities did not announce trial dates yet.
