It was a festival of gameplay releases during the PlayStation Experience 2016 as brand new games, sequels, and remastered ones were digested by gamers and fans. One such classic game from Naughty Dogs which is roughly 20 years old is from the collaboration between Vicarious Visions and publisher Activision: "Crash Bandicoot: N. Sane Trilogy" remastered.
Earlier this year, Sony revealed "Crash Bandicoot" remastered during the E3 event. Sony, however, didn't dish out further details of the game. It was only until the PlayStation Experience 2016 did "Crash Bandicoot: N. Sane Trilogy" spun its way onto gamers eyes.
Sony noted that they don't consider "Crash Bandicoot: N. Sane Trilogy" a remake of Naughty Dog's classic game. Far from it in fact, because the original code and assets were nearly unusable. Instead, it is a remaster plus. Clearly, the graphics have been massively improved to cater to PlayStation 4's power, according to GameRant.
Not only did Vicarious Visions and publisher Activision showcase improved graphics, but also new gameplay features. Per PlayStation Blog, "Crash Bandicoot: N. Sane Trilogy" remastered will have gameplay improvements and additions.
Among the improvements created in the latest "Crash Bandicoot: N. Sane Trilogy" remastered are rebuilt levels, based on the original geometry, rebuilt characters, following the original designs, rebuilt cinematics, and inspired by the originals. Noteworthy new features are added.
"Crash Bandicoot: N. Sane Trilogy" remastered has the following new features, although still a work in progress, added by Vicarious Visions and publisher Activision as was showcased during the PlayStation Experience 2016.
Unified checkpointing and save game system
"Crash Bandicoot: N. Sane Trilogy" remastered now includes manual and auto-saving. Yes! According to Vicarious Visions and publisher Activision, the game now has a proper save game system.
Unified menu system
When a player pauses "Crash Bandicoot: N. Sane Trilogy" remastered game, a window is displayed divided into four. One window displays where the player stopped. Next to it displays the "Progress Bar." Directly below this are the "Time Trials" and "Relics." And finally, directly below the first window is the option whether to "Resume," "Options," or "Quit." Well, indeed it is a unified menu as everything is displayed in one window. There is no need to open one to get to the next.
Time Trials in all three games
Vicarious Visions and publisher Activision no doubt made "Crash Bandicoot: N. Sane Trilogy" more fun as a time trial is available for all games. However, these are the only new features that were released to the public, but more will come as the game is still under construction.
Also, Kotaku reported that "Crash Bandicoot: N. Sane Trilogy" remastered game's audio gets a makeover. The game from Vicarious Visions and publisher Activision will hit PS4 consoles in 2017.
