Idaho Mom Admits Having Sexual Relations with a Teenage Boy

An Idaho mom admits to having sexual relations with a teenage boy. She has been sentenced to jail time and probation last Tuesday.

35-year-old Amanda Katherine Steele made an admission about having illegal sexual relations with a 17-year-old boy in 2016.

There were reports which also disclosed that the Idaho mom had other sexual relations with minors.

The Idaho mom pleaded guilty to two felony counts.

The illegal sexual relations with minors

According to reports, the father-in-law of the Idaho woman was the one who reported that Steele was rumored to be hanging out with boys.

Court documents revealed that the victims of Steele's illegal sexual relations include a 17-year-old boy who would skip school and seminary just to have sex with the Idaho mom.

In a police report, the victim also disclosed that he knew that Steele was having sexual relations with his friends; however, he only knew one who was still a minor.

The Idaho mom's admission

Steele eventually admitted to her husband and authorities that he had illegal sexual relations with minors.

Although the incidents happened in 2016 and the investigation started in 2017, the sentence on Steele's case was only given recently due to conflicts in statements among witnesses, the victims, and the accused.

In June, the Idaho mom already agreed to a plea deal and admitted to the charges against her. Initially, she was charged with three felony counts of child sexual battery committed by lewd conduct.

The sentence

After admitting the charges filed against her, District Judge Darren Simpson on Tuesday sentenced Steele to 90 days in prison. That was in an exchange with the suspension of the three to a 10-year prison sentence that Steele was supposed to face.

However, District Judge Simpson emphasized that Steele may still face jail time if she does not comply with the probation she is having.

After the 90-day imprisonment, Steele is undergoing 7-year felony probation.

Aside from the probation and jail time, Steele is also in need of completing 300 hours of community service. She will also be required to pay $4,671 in fees and fines.

Since the Idaho mom was not charged with a sex crime she is not required to be registered as a sex offender.

Idaho's law on sex with minors

In the case of Steele and the victims, the sexual relationships were consensual. However, under the law of Idaho, minors who are 16 or 17 cannot approve of having sex with adults who are 5 or more years older than them.

That is why Steele was still charged by prosecutors.
