Mariah Carey Follows ‘Weird’ Diet, Only Eats Carpers And Salmon Every Single Day To Stay Fit And Sexy

'All I Want For Christmas' singer Mariah Carey has spilled out her secret to her super sexy and hot body: salmon and capers. That's right; Carey said she only eats capers and salmon every single day. Indeed one of the weirdest celebrity diets known.

Pop Diva, Mariah Carey, always looks fabulous, whether she is on-stage singing in cleavage-baring outfits or enjoying a cool breeze on the beach in a sexy two-piece swimsuit. So what is her secret to having a sexy and fit body? E-News threw this question to Carey during their interview with the star of her reality show entitled "Mariah's World." Her answer came quite shocking.

"All you eat is Norwegian salmon and capers every day. That's it," Fox News quoted Carey, as saying. She said her diet was hard and people would hate it, but she tried to stick with it. A lot of individuals actually find her diet one of the strangest celebrity diets.

If Carey plans to stick with her diet for a long time, that is very worrying. In fact, registered dietitians don't recommend this kind of diet. Some diet experts said following a strict diet like that of Carey would not be sustainable or enough.

Lisa Moskovitz, CEO of NY Nutrition Group ad registered dietitian, said to Munchies that while Carey's diet might be possible to survive on eating only capers and salmon, it's not ideal or suggested. She stated in an email that food is super nutritious, providing a high source of vitamins B, phosphorous, selenium, vitamins B, omega-3 fats, and protein, but carpers are usually less in nutrients. Thus it would be almost impossible to have all the necessary nutrients that a high-functioning, healthy body needs.

Tanya Zuckerbrot, M.S., R.D., told SELF that Carey's diet is off the bat and it is not a well-rounded diet. She also noted that yes, a diet which only includes capers and salmon would be less in calorie, however avoiding fruits, vegetables and carbohydrates would prove pretty damaging effect over time.

To get enough calories, experts suggested Carey should eat 25 ounces or one-and-half pounds of fresh salmon every day. Overall, dieticians recommended Carey to add some fruits, lots of veggies, healthy carbs and good source vitamin D and calcium in her diet to have a sustainable, healthy and balanced diet.
