'Be Happy': Jo Carter Unlocks Secret To Parenting Big Kids

Raising big kids is complicated, and most parents would agree on this. Except for Jo Carter, who says parenting big kids can be very easy. According to this mom-of-eight, for the big kids to grow happier, parents need to take time from their tight schedules to take care of themselves.

Life coach Jo Carter has unlocked a secret to bringing up happy big kiddos, and that is for the parents to be happy too. This means spending more time taking good care of themselves and prioritizing self-care over their children.

Carter shared that she has struggled with stressful demands of parenting in the past, but now feels she has found the right answer to making it work and wants to share it with other parents. According to her, in the last few years, she has discovered a philosophy which has transformed her life as well as the relationships she has with her children. The theory entailed several aspects however the central principle, as per Carter, is "the best thing I can do for my kids is to be happy."

When about parenting big kids, this mom-of-eight is never short of experience. With eight children, Carter has experienced the entire lows and highs of parenting and taking care of the family. She admits that all her big kids made her feel like a "plate spinner."

The Mirror has reported that according to Carter, there are so many reasons why parents are less happy than they could be. These reasons were underrating what parents can do in a day causing them to be very busy, finding the value of parents in what they achieve and having unrealistic expectations of themselves and their kiddos. She added that all those things made parents feel less valuable as well as made their self-esteems suffer and thus kept them very busy that they neglect to look after themselves.

Carter called her parenting style as Easy Peasy Parenting. Manchester Evening News reported that Carter lives in Wigan together with her husband, Bill, and kids Rachel, 20, Emily 17, Alice 14, Elizabeth, 12, John, 10, Grace, 7, Charlotte, 4 and baby William, 11-month-old.
